Japan Convenience Stores Looking to Reduce Food Waste

   Tokyo, May 20 (Jiji Press)--Major Japanese convenience store chains are speeding up efforts to reduce food loss, mainly the disposal of still-edible food items left unsold.
   The companies are aiming to reduce food waste through such measures as virtual markdowns for "bento" boxed meals nearing their consume-by dates.
