Toyota, Subaru to Jointly Develop Electric Vehicle Platform

   Nagoya, June 6 (Jiji Press)--Toyota Motor Corp. <7203> and Subaru Corp. <7270> said Thursday they have agreed to jointly develop a dedicated platform for midsize and large electric passenger cars.
   The two Japanese automakers will also co-develop an electric SUV. They are considering releasing the vehicle under their respective brands in the first half of the 2020s, officials said.
