JR East to Scrap All Typhoon-Flooded Shinkansen Train Cars

   Tokyo, Nov. 6 (Jiji Press)--East Japan Railway Co. <9020>, or JR East, will retire all of its eight Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet trains with 96 cars flooded by Typhoon Hagibis last month, President Yuji Fukasawa said Wednesday.
   Fukasawa also told a press conference that the company aims to restore the Hokuriku Shinkansen services to the predisaster level by the end of March 2020.
