Number of Convenience Stores in Japan Marks 1st Drop in 2019

   Tokyo, Jan. 22 (Jiji Press)--The number of convenience stores in Japan declined for the first time ever in 2019, as operators are struggling to earn profits amid tough competition.
   The industry is changing its business model centered on massive store openings, 45 years after the first store in the country opened in Tokyo's Toyosu district.
