(Update 2) 2 Banks Mishandle Shareholder Votes for 1,346 Firms

   Tokyo, Sept. 24 (Jiji Press)--Two trust banks said Thursday that they have confirmed errors in the tallying of votes for general shareholder meetings entrusted by a total of 1,346 publicly traded corporate clients in Japan.
   Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank and Mizuho Trust & Banking Co. made the announcements, saying that a company to which they commissioned the work failed to count some voting cards, leaving these votes not reflected in the results of balloting.
