JR East Suffers 1st Annual Net Loss amid Epidemic

   Tokyo, April 28 (Jiji Press)--East Japan Railway Co. <9020>, or JR East, on Wednesday reported its first full-year group net loss for the year through March, hit by a slump in passenger numbers amid the novel coronavirus crisis.
   The company, created through the 1987 breakup and privatization of the Japanese National Railways, logged a consolidated net loss of 577,900 million yen, against the previous year's profit of 198,428 million yen.
