Shimadzu Starts PCR Test Service Using Wastewater

   Kyoto, May 14 (Jiji Press)--Japanese precision equipment maker Shimadzu Corp. <7701> has announced the full-scale launch of its service to conduct polymerase chain reaction tests for the novel coronavirus using wastewater.
   The tests, handled by a subsidiary, are conducted by facility, including at schools and elderly care homes. Infections can be found efficiently if the wastewater tests are combined with tests on individuals, Shimadzu said Thursday.
