Japan Machine Tool Orders Up 120 Pct in April

   Tokyo, May 17 (Jiji Press)--Machine tool orders received by Japanese companies in April rose 120.8 pct from a year before to 123,946 million yen, going up for the sixth straight month, the Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association said in a preliminary report Monday.
   Orders from abroad grew 2.5 times to 87,935 million yen, returning to the level in 2018 when orders hit a record and underscoring a recovery from the impact of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
