Toyota to Overhaul EV Design, Production amid Accelerating Shift
Nagoya, Jan. 25 (Jiji Press)--Toyota Motor Corp. <7203> plans to overhaul its electric vehicle design and production system, in response to the faster-than-expected adoption of EVs.
Toyota is considering developing a low-cost EV-specific chassis and setting up a dedicated EV production line, as it seeks to catch up with rivals such as Tesla Inc. of the United States and China's BYD Co.
