Nippon Steel Renews Call for Understanding on U.S. Steel Buyout
Tokyo, Dec. 3 (Jiji Press)--Japan's Nippon Steel Corp. on Tuesday reiterated its call for understanding for its plan to acquire United States Steel Corp., as U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said on social media that he is "totally against" the acquisition plan.
Nippon Steel issued a statement stressing its readiness to support the U.S. company's growth. It noted that the deal will help strengthen the U.S. industry and supply chains in the country, as well as the country's national security.
