Dollar Slides below 108 Yen in Tokyo

Tokyo, Feb. 13 (Jiji Press)--The dollar tumbled below 108 yen in Tokyo trading on Tuesday, breaching the threshold for the first time since Sept. 11 last year, as the safe-haven yen attracted buying interest amid persistent worries about unstable stock prices.
At 5 p.m., the dollar stood at 107.75-76 yen, down from 109.14-15 yen at the same time on Friday, the previous market day in Japan. The euro was at 1.2317-2317 dollars, up from 1.2283-2283 dollars, and at 132.72-72 yen, down from 134.07-08 yen.
