Dollar Jumps to around 106.50 Yen in Tokyo

   Tokyo, Aug. 14 (Jiji Press)--The dollar surges to around 106.50 yen in Tokyo trading Wednesday, boosted by risk-on buying in the wake of the U.S. government backing off from a tariff war with China to some extent.
   At 5 p.m., the dollar stood at 106.44-44 yen, up sharply from 105.19-19 yen at the same time Tuesday. The euro was at 1.1179-1180 dollars, down from 1.1192-1192 dollars, and at 119.00-00 yen, up from 117.73-74 yen.
