Nikkei Snaps 3-Session Losing Streak on Buybacks

   Tokyo, May 14 (Jiji Press)--The benchmark Nikkei stock average rose for the first time in four sessions Friday, with investors stepping up buybacks following an overnight Wall Street rally.
   The Nikkei average of 225 selected issues listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange surged 636.46 points, or 2.32 pct, to finish at 28,084.47, returning above 28,000 after shedding 699.50 points to fall through the psychologically important threshold on Thursday.
