Nikkei Notches 31-Year High on Vaccination Progress

   Tokyo, Sept. 14 (Jiji Press)--Japan's benchmark Nikkei stock average marked its highest close in over 31 years Tuesday, as progress in COVID-19 vaccinations in the country brightened an already upbeat market mood.
   The Nikkei average of 225 selected issues listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange climbed 222.73 points, or 0.73 pct, to close at 30,670.10, its highest level since Aug. 1, 1990. On Tuesday, the index rose 65.53 points.
