Nikkei May Test Year-to-Date Intraday High Next Week

   Tokyo, Sept. 24 (Jiji Press)--The benchmark Nikkei stock average might test its year-to-date intraday high of 30,795.78 next week amid an optimistic mood ahead of the leadership election of Japan's ruling Liberal Democratic Party, market people said Friday.
   This week, the Nikkei average of 225 selected issues listed on the first section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 251.24 points, or 0.82 pct, to end Friday at 30,248.81. The market was closed on Monday and Thursday for national holidays.
