Dollar Strengthens Close to 112 Yen in Tokyo

   Tokyo, Oct. 8 (Jiji Press)--The dollar advanced near 112 yen in Tokyo trading Friday on the back of higher Japanese stocks and U.S. interest rates.
   At 5 p.m., the dollar stood at 111.95-95 yen, up from 111.29-29 yen at the same time Thursday. The euro was at 1.1546-1550 dollars, down from 1.1568-1569 dollars, and at 129.28-35 yen, up from 128.74-81 yen.
