Nikkei Tumbles below 37,000 for 1st Time in 6 Months

   Tokyo, March 7 (Jiji Press)--Tokyo stocks plunged Friday following a technology sell-off on Wall Street the previous day, with the benchmark Nikkei 225 average coming below the 37,000 threshold for the first time in six months.
   On the Tokyo stock exchange's top-tier Prime section, chip stocks were hit by strong selling stemming from the U.S. tech tumble triggered by a major U.S. semiconductor firm's weaker-than-expected earnings report.
