On January 25, 2025, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation , through Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), revealed satellite data from the Suomi NPP satellite's VIIRS system and other satellites. 

The data from January 24, 2025, showed that Thailand had a total of 420 hot spots, which may contribute to PM 2.5 dust pollution. 

138 spots in agricultural areas
93 spots in national forest reserve areas
80 spots in agricultural land reform areas
56 spots in community and other areas
48 spots in conservation forest areas
5 spots along highways

Meanwhile, neighboring countries had the following hot spots:

Cambodia: 678 spots
Myanmar: 358 spots
Vietnam: 282 spots
Laos: 247 spots
Malaysia: 5 spots
