(Update) Japan Logs Some 79,000 New COVID-19 Cases

   Tokyo, Jan. 25 (Jiji Press)--Japan reported 78,796 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, down by some 44,000 from a week before.
   The number of very ill coronavirus patients fell by 25 from Tuesday to 613. New COVID-19 deaths came to 424.
   New infection cases in Tokyo stood at 5,934, down by 3,253 from a week before.
   New fatalities totaled 25 in the Japanese capital. The number of patients with serious symptoms under Tokyo's criteria was unchanged from Tuesday at 34.
