DigitalArchi aims to help relieve the worker shortage and other issues facing the construction industry by fabricating forms for concrete construction with 3D printers to ease workloads and increase efficiency on job sites. This formwork is generally made by construction workers using wood, which takes time and energy. The use of recycled plastic as the material for the formwork is also another step toward achieving a decarbonized society by recycling resources.

Toyoda Gosei has been seeking to recycle plastic automotive parts, the company’s main products, to reduce environmental impact. The company will collaborate with DigitalArchi to apply its currently unrecyclable, painted or plated plastic to materials for construction formwork.

* Investment made in December 2024, through Toyoda Gosei’s Corporate Venture Capital Dept., an internal organization dedicated to these investments.
