     Japanese athletes won seven medals at the 2022 Beijing Winter Paralympics in the Chinese capital and surrounding areas in March. Female sit skier Momoka Muraoka clinched three gold and one silver medals, becoming the first Japanese Paralympian to earn four career golds. Taiki Kawayoke, 21, won a gold medal in men's standing cross-country skiing, breaking the Japan record for the youngest male Winter Paralympic gold medalist. Male sit skier Taiki Morii won two bronze medals.
