Matsuura Clan's 'Keshibina' Small Hina Dolls Come from Matsuura Historical Museum in Hirado, Nagasaki Prefecture

Finely crafted 'Keshibina' dolls are as small as seeds of poppy, called 'keshi' in Japan. The pictured dolls were taken to the Matsuura family when Shin, a daughter of Matsudaira Sadanobu, the Tokugawa Shogunate's reformist councilor, married Matsuura Hiromu, the 10th lord of the Matsuura clan, in 1808.
