Tsunami Advisory Issued for Hokkaido, Other Parts of Japan

   Tokyo, July 30 (Jiji Press)--The Japan Meteorological Agency on Wednesday issued a tsunami advisory to many areas facing the Pacific, including the eastern part of Hokkaido, the country's northernmost prefecture.
   Tsunamis of up to 1 meter are expected to reach these coastal areas, the agency said.
   According to the U.S. Geological Survey, an earthquake with an estimated magnitude of 8.0 occurred near Russia's Kamchatka Peninsula, located northeast of Hokkaido, on Wednesday.
