MANILA - The Marcos administration will exert all efforts to attract more tourists and investments by making the Philippines "more peaceful," Malacanang said on Thursday.

The government will not stop to further strengthen the peace in this country)," Palace press officer Claire Castro told reporters.

This, as Castro welcomed the Philippines' best peace placement in eight years in the 2025 Global Peace Index (GPI), climbing six spots to 105th out of 163 countries.

The Philippines' latest ranking is the highest since it ranked 87th in 2017, registering an overall GPI score of 2.15.

Castro urged the mainstream and social media content creators to join the government in its efforts to promote the Philippines as a "beautiful" country.

She also asked them to avoid the "negative" issues, saying these could affect other countries' perception of the Philippines.

We should be even better at providing a good environment in our country and we should strive even harder because this is an inspiration for the administration to improve even more so that other countries will be more prepared to look at our situation here in the Philippines)," Castro said.

Castro said the government will strive harder in promoting the Philippines to encourage foreign nationals to visit the country.

When neighboring countries and other foreign nationals see that our country is peaceful and not what they always see in the news, which is a bit negative, we will be able to attract more tourists to our country and we will be able to generate income and at the same time generate investment)," she said.
