Cashless Day 2025 kicks off in Ho Chi Minh City, driving digital economy forward
Under the direction of the State Bank of Vietnam and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Payment Department, Thoi Bao Ngan Hang (Banking Times), Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, the municipal Department of Industry and Trade and the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS) on Monday morning held a press briefing to launch the Cashless Day 2025.
This year's campaign carries the theme 'Cashless Payments Driving the Digital Economy.'
Over the past six years, the annual initiative has significantly contributed to the spread of digital payment practices and has played a pivotal role in reshaping consumer behavior across Vietnam.
The Cashless Day 2025 program will feature a series of events stretching through the end of the year.
Among them is the much-anticipated Ting Ting Day, a cashless day festival that is set to take place from 7:30 am on June 14 to 9:00 pm on June 15 along Nguyen Hue Pedestrian Street.
Organizers expect the event to draw up to 100,000 visitors.
The festival will bring to life a fully cashless society through four immersive zones:
-- Ting Ting Now! - A check-in and exhibition area tracing Vietnam's digital payment journey.
-- Ting Ting Wow! - A digital lifestyle showcase with interactive booths, including mock-ups of public service counters for visitors to experience cashless transactions first-hand.
-- Ting Ting Life! - A digital utility zone where attendees can dine, shop, and enjoy services using non-cash methods.
-- Ting Ting Show! A live entertainment stage featuring the E-COINCERT, an electronic music concert.
The event will also treat visitors to live-stream shopping sessions, game shows, workshops, and interactive mini-games.
Besides, a seminar titled 'Cashless Payment: A Driver of Digital Economic Growth' will be held at the Rex Hotel at 8:00 am on June 14, centering on the role of digital payments and strategic solutions for the 202630 period.
Also tied into the campaign is the citywide Shopping Season 2025 promotion program, aimed at stimulating consumer spending through both traditional and online discounts.
The program includes two main phases: 'Summer Shopping 2025' from June 15 to September 15, and 'Spring Shopping 2026' between November 15 and December 31.
Highlights include the 'City Sale' and mobile retail services targeted at supporting local workers.
