(Update) Schoolgirl Stabbed to Death in Southwestern Japan

Fukuoka, Dec. 14 (Jiji Press)--Two junior high school students were stabbed with what appeared to be a knife by a man at a McDonald's hamburger shop in the city of Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, southwestern Japan, on Saturday night.
The students were rushed to hospital, but one of them, a girl, died. The other victim, a boy, is conscious.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. The male suspect ran away from the scene, and the Fukuoka prefectural police department is searching for him.
The man is about 40 years old and some 170 centimeters tall, the police said, adding that he has brown hair and was wearing a dark blue shirt and dark pants. The man is believed to still have the knife.
The two students, from the same junior high school in Kitakyushu, were stabbed when they were waiting in line at the store's cash register.
