Beaches in Da Nang packed as locals, tourists seek relief from scorching heat
Beaches along Vo Nguyen Giap Street in Son Tra District, Da Nang City, such as My Khe, Pham Van Dong, and Man Thai were crowded with locals and tourists coming to swim on the afternoon of June 7, 2025.

As the weather in Da Nang City, central Vietnam has been hot and stifling, thousands of locals and tourists have flocked to beaches such as My Khe, Pham Van Dong, and Man Thai to cool off over the past few days.

On Saturday afternoon, beaches along Vo Nguyen Giap Street in Son Tra District were thronged with people.

At My Khe Beach, which was voted as one of the best beaches in the world in 2006, crowds began arriving around 4:00 pm.

Many beachgoers were seen relaxing in the cool water and taking part in recreational activities such as kite flying and sandcastle building.

Visitors also enjoyed a variety of water sports, including parasailing and jet skiing.

“It’s too hot to go outside during the day, with outdoor temperatures reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius," shared Le Van Hung, a resident of Hai Chau District.

"In the late afternoon, when it cools down a bit, my whole family heads to the beach to beat the heat.

“I sometimes try parasailing to get a bird’s-eye view of the sea."

Man Thai and Pham Van Dong beaches were also crowded with people swimming and playing in the late afternoon.

Rental services for life jackets and beach umbrellas were operating at full capacity to meet the demand.

Le Quoc Cuong, 29, from Ho Chi Minh City, chose Da Nang as his summer destination.

“I came to enjoy the [Da Nang] International Fireworks Festival and visit popular tourist attractions," he said.

"I’m impressed by how beautiful the beach is, with clear blue water and a lively, joyful atmosphere.

"I hope to return to Da Nang’s beaches in the future."

Nguyen Duc Vu, head of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Beaches Management Board, said that various safety measures are in place to protect beachgoers and promote the image of Da Nang as a friendly and welcoming city.

Lifeguards and beach management staff regularly monitor beaches to ensure public safety.
