Yacht tours in Vietnam's Nha Trang Bay become magnet for local, foreign tourists
Cruising has emerged as a popular tourism trend in Nha Trang, south-central Vietnam, with sunset tours around the bay becoming a favorite among both domestic and international travelers.
Once considered a luxury only accessible to the affluent, cruising Nha Trang Bay, located in Khanh Hoa Province, is now within reach for a wider range of tourists.
Do Van Tiep, a representative of Aman Yacht, shared that travelers can now enjoy luxury yacht experiences at a cost from VND1.5 million (US$57) per person.
For group bookings, chartering an entire yacht for around 50 people typically costs from VND50 million ($2,000).
Russian and South Korean tourists are especially fond of yacht tours, while young Vietnamese travelers and families are increasingly drawn to this option, he said.
These yachts depart from either the Ana Marina Nha Trang or the Nha Trang tourist pier, sailing past well-known islands such as Hon Mieu, Hon Tam, Hon Tre, and other scenic spots throughout Nha Trang Bay.
Many yachts are equipped with sun decks, outdoor lounges, bars, dining areas, and entertainment spaces to satisfy passengers.
Meanwhile, some offer seafood meals, live music performances, onboard spa services, and adventurous water activities such as stand-up paddleboarding, snorkeling, and jet skiing.
Nguyen Quang Thang, vice-chairman of the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, confirmed that the number of yacht tour bookings is on the rise, especially during the favorable summer months.
He emphasized that the appeal of yacht tourism lies in its privacy, comfort, and novelty, luring both international and domestic visitors.
"Investment in the yacht tourism sector not only opens up a promising direction for Khanh Hoa Province's tourism industry, but also aligns with sustainable tourism practices," Thang said.
