Tokyo, May 8 (Jiji Press)--Two men were arrested after creating a commotion at an elementary school in Tokyo's Tachikawa on Thursday.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, five people, including a school office worker in his 70s and a teacher in his 50s, were injured, but their injuries are believed to be minor. None of the municipal school's children were injured in the incident.
Police received a report around 11 a.m. from a teacher that there were intruders at the school and that two men were acting violently and smashing a glass pane.
A man in his 30s and another man in his 40s were arrested on the spot. According to investigative sources, they are believed to be acquaintances of the mother of a pupil of the school.
The two men entered a classroom of second graders on the second floor. They then made their way down to the staff room on the first floor, where they smashed a glass pane of a door.
