FOCUS: Ishiba Makes Solid Start toward Japan-U.S. "Golden Age"

Washington, Feb. 8 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba has ended his first face-to-face summit with U.S. President Donald Trump without a hitch, getting off to a solid start to build a new era for the Japan-U.S. relationship.
After Friday's meeting, the two leaders issued a joint statement expressing their determination to pursue a "new golden age" for the relations between the two allies.

A Japanese government official voiced relief, saying, "We've achieved our desired purpose."
But it is not all sunshine and rainbows. Trump has hinted at possible tariffs on imports from Japan.
