Top Vietnamese leaders including Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Friday sent congratulatory messages to U.S. President Donald Trump to mark the 249th anniversary of U.S. Independence (July 4, 1776 - July 4, 2025) and the 30th anniversary of the Vietnam-U.S. diplomatic relations.

On this occasion, Tran Thanh Man, chairman of Vietnam's law-making National Assembly, also extended congratulations to President of the U.S. Senate James David Vance and Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Mike Johnson, according to Vietnam's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

In their messages, the Vietnamese Party and state leaders reaffirmed the country's consistent view of the U.S. as a strategically important partner. They welcomed U.S. support for a "strong, independent, self-reliant, and prosperous Vietnam."

Reflecting on 30 years of diplomatic ties, especially since the elevation of the relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership, the top Vietnamese leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive developments across all areas of cooperation, both bilaterally and in regional and international contexts.

They also emphasized Vietnam's readiness to work closely with the U.S. to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership in a substantive and effective manner, bringing tangible benefits to both peoples and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and beyond.

Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son also sent a congratulatory message to U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
