(Update) Japan Emperor, Empress Arrive in Britain

London, June 23 (Jiji Press)--Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako arrived in Britain on Saturday, on an official visit to the country to promote international goodwill.
A Japanese government plane carrying the couple arrived at London Stansted Airport, where Viscount Brookeborough KG, Lord-in-Waiting, greeted the two on behalf of King Charles III.
The Emperor and Empress moved to a hotel in central London in a car sent by the King. The couple responded by waving to the people who greeted them.
On Sunday, the Emperor visited the Japan House London, a Japanese government-run hub for disseminating information about Japanese culture set up in 2018. He enthusiastically looked around a shop at the facility whose lineup included craft products such as "Wajima-nuri" lacquerware, and viewed an exhibit featuring various designs from Japan, including those of ancient "Jomon" pottery.
