Japan Lowers 1st-Quarter GDP Estimate to 2.9 Pct Decline

   Tokyo, July 1 (Jiji Press)--The Japanese government on Monday lowered its inflation- and seasonally adjusted gross domestic product estimate for the first quarter to a 2.9 pct annualized decline.
   The previous estimate released by the Cabinet Office last month had given a 1.8 pct annualized fall in the January-March GDP.
   The change reflected revisions to the infrastructure ministry's construction statistics.
