BCDA inks 25-year lease with Ayala for Camp John Hay techno hub

MANILA, Philippines — The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) on Tuesday said it has formalized a new 25-year lease agreement with property giant Ayala Land Inc. (ALI) for the continued operation of the John Hay Technohub in Baguio City.

The BCDA said the deal was expected to boost state revenues and further anchor the agency’s role in transforming former military lands into economic assets.

The government-owned and controlled corporation said the property, located inside Camp John Hay, will remain a hub for business process outsourcing (BPO) operations and commercial activities.

“This partnership ensures that business continues to thrive smoothly while we build a stronger, brighter future for all. It reflects the deep trust and confidence that respected companies like Ayala place in the government,” BCDA president and CEO Joshua Bingcang said in a statement.

Under the terms of the agreement, ALI will continue to operate the Technohub as it has since its initial development offering both office and retail components tailored for the BPO sector.

The BCDA said it expects the deal to generate approximately P600 million in lease revenues over its term.
