MANILA, Philippines — Logistics and shipping company 2GO Group Inc. and job platform WorkAbroad.ph have teamed up to provide Filipino maritime workers access to overseas job opportunities, targeting to benefit 20,000 local talents by 2026.

On Wednesday, the parties signed their partnership to launch an enrollment-to-employment (E2E) program.

2GO head of travel and senior assistant vice president Francis John Chua, in a press briefing aboard MV Masagana, said they would provide ship-based and hands-on training to enrollees so they can be prepared for job placement.

The program includes training in housekeeping, front desk duties, culinary and other hospitality-related skills, in addition to maritime engineering. Chua said they were currently evaluating the program to include more courses in the future.

Apart from these, the E2E program will provide participants career coaching and soft skills development, including job interview preparation.

“This program gives students something they can’t get in a classroom or a short internship: total immersion in live maritime operations,” Chua said.

“With E2R, students don’t just earn hours—they gain experience, confidence and a head start in building a career,” he added.

Overseas demand

WorkAbroad.ph business unit head Angelo Jayno said that demand for overseas jobs are coming from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Japan and Australia, among others.

In addition to maritime sector, in-demand sectors also include health care, manufacturing and service, Jayno said.

WorkAbroad.ph partners with recruitment agencies certified by the Department of Migrant Workers.

2GO president and CEO Frederic DyBuncio earlier said they were bullish for 2025 after expanding cargo capacity by 35 percent and expanding routes to Davao and General Santos City.

The company launched in February a one-stop logistics solution subsidiary providing services such as general cargoes, cold chain, bulk liquids and heavy lift cargoes.
