Thai King and Queen offer royal patronage to those affected by Thai-Cambodian clashes

Provided by Nation.

Their Majesties the King and Queen extend their royal patronage to those affected by the Thai-Cambodian border clashes, with support for the deceased and injured.

Prime Minister and Culture Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Saturday expressed deep gratitude for the royal compassion shown by Their Majesties the King and Queen, who have shown concern for both the military personnel and civilians affected by the ongoing border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia. Their Majesties have graciously bestowed royal patronage upon the deceased and injured, ensuring they are cared for under the royal protection.

Paetongtarn noted that following a meeting to review the response measures and assistance from the Ministry of Culture, the ministry, in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior, is coordinating efforts to support the injured and the families of the deceased in the affected areas. The Ministry of Culture has been tasked with two key responsibilities:

1. Funeral services under royal patronage: As the agency responsible for managing funerals under royal patronage, the Ministry will carry out its duties with dignity and in accordance with royal protocols and traditional royal rites, as directed by the Bureau of the Royal Household.

2. Other assigned support tasks: The Ministry is also coordinating efforts to care for the wounded, provide essential goods, and assist in the psychological recovery of those affected. This includes sending personnel to assess the damage in the affected areas, such as historical sites, and securing funds for repairs and restoration.
