Cebu Pacific’s 6-month profit soars to P8.97 billion



MANILA, Philippines — Budget carrier Cebu Pacific saw its earnings in the first half rise sharply by 153 percent to P8.97 billion on strong passenger growth.

In a disclosure Wednesday, the Gokongwei-led company said total revenues during the period had jumped 23 percent to P63.3 billion.

Passenger numbers also improved by 21 percent to 14 million.

Ancillary and cargo revenues likewise climbed by 19 percent and 33 percent, respectively.

“These results for the second quarter and first half of 2025 reflect the returns from our strategic investments in fleet and network expansion, along with the sustained demand for air travel,” said Michael Szucs, chief executive officer of Cebu Pacific.

“With the Philippines’ growing economy, favorable demographics and expanding tourism sector, we remain well-positioned to drive long-term growth in low-cost travel,” Szucs added. /dda
