DigiPlus surges 20% on PSEi frenzy

DigiPlus launches buyback program; shares slip 4%



MANILA, Philippines — Investors high on the inclusion of DigiPlus Interactive Corp. in the 30-member Philippine Stock Exchange Index (PSEi) boosted the company’s stock price by more than 20 percent on Monday morning.

The Eusebio Tanco-led digital entertainment platform opened the trading day at P32.30 per share from its previous closing price of P26.90 each on Friday, or when the local bourse named it the newest member of the PSEi.

It effectively kicked out new rival Bloomberry Resorts Corp., which is now part of the MidCap Index.

The changes are effective on Aug. 18.
